Sheep Hair for Fly Tying – natural movement for large streamers
Sheep hair is a proven natural material for tying effective streamers for pike, huchen and other predatory fish. The long, soft fibers create strong movement in the water and form a clear, voluminous profile.With a natural length of approx. 15 to 25 cm, the material is easy to handle and tie in cleanly. It compresses well on the hook shank, which allows you to build multi-color patterns without unnecessary bulk. At the same time, the structure remains stable in the water and does not collapse.
The fine and slightly translucent fibers give your flies a more realistic appearance. This makes sheep hair ideal for baitfish imitations that trigger aggressive takes.
