CDC Appetizer (peacock)

Die Wirksamkeit impressionistischer Imitationen beruht darauf, daß sie das Wesentliche ihrer Vorbilder herausheben. Bezogen auf die gerade geschlüpften Subimagines (Duns) der Eintagsfliegen sind dies vor allem Thoraxbereich und Abdomen. Die Umrisse der Einzelelemente sollten keine klaren Linien haben. Doch muß ihr Größenverhältnis stimmen und der Gesamteindruck des Musters dem der gerade ausgekrochenen Fliege entsprechen. Der gewünschte verschwommene Eindruck läßt sich mit keinem anderen Behechelungsmaterial so perfekt erzielen wie mit den extrem weichen Bürzelfibern. Der diffus wirkende Thorax/Flügelbereich der CDC-Appetizer wird durch eine klassische Rundumbehechelung erreicht. Auch ihr Dubbingkörper hat keine harten Konturen. Dadurch erscheint die gesamte Fliege im Sichtfenster des Fisches unklar und verschwommen. Dieser Eindruck wird natürlich bei gebrochener Oberfläche noch verstärkt. Da Fische die Fliege fast immer im Gegenlicht zu sehen bekommen, ist ihre Wahrnehmung von Farbwerten von verschiedenen, sehr unterschiedlichen Faktoren abhängig, z.b. von der allgemeinen Helligkeit, vom Einfallswinkel des Sonnenlichts, von der Tiefe des Standplatzes und der Sichtigkeit des Wassers. Dennnoch kommt es gelegentlich selbst auf die Körperfärbungen unserer Muster an. Für die CDC-Appetizer haben sich, in Anlehnung an die Färbungen vieler Duns, die diffus-matten Körpertönungen "golden tan" und "charcoal grey" bewährt. Die CDC-Appetizer ist, wie ihr Name schon sagt, universell einzusetzen. Korrekt angeboten deckt sie beim Schlupf vieler Eintagsfliegenarten als echtes Gruppenmuster ein breites Imitationsspektrum ab.
