Fly Fishing - Weisse Traun "Magic Forest"
The exclusive “Zauberwald / Magic Forest” fly fishing stretch on the Weisse Traun is hidden away at the end of Ruhpolding. From the bridge in Bibelöd to the inlet of the Edergraben, the Traun flows past rushing water, through deep pools and always alongside a beautiful forest.
This section of the Bavarian Traun is home to great brown and rainbow trout. The stretch invites you to fly fish and enjoy!
Access to the stretch is either through the water or via a path running parallel to the river.
This stretch of the Traun is both idyllic and magical. It has a length of 1.6 km and flows north of Ruhpolding.

The river stretch "Zauberwald" is around 15 to 20 meters wide here and is home to brown and rainbow trout. Picturesque pools alternate with great trickling stretches invite you to catch those trout with your fly rod.
The Weiße Traun is beautifully embedded in a valley and surrounded by forest.
There are very few exclusive licenses for 1 or 2 people for this stretch per day.
Please note:
The use of all jig variants (flies on jig hooks with an angled eye), streamers, bread or glo-bug flies and worm flies is prohibited.
The use of off-bead nymphs (trout trap) larger than #12 is also prohibited.
Furthermore, the additional attachment of lead shot is not permitted.
