Whether fishing for trout, bass, pike, or musky there are times when a large fly is the best option, and RIO’s Predator line series is designed specifically to cast them easily. Featuring a short, powerful front taper and plenty of weight at the front, the lines have no problem casting the biggest of flies with ease. Fluorocarbon Hi-Energy Leader (9ft)
Tiemco produces the knotless tapered variation of these leaders. The advantage of fluorocarbon is that it is virtually invisible under water and it sinks into the surface. The Tiemco fluorocarbon fly leaders are a little stiffer than nylon fly leaders. This helps you to present the fly. Also fluorocarbon is almost invisible in water for fish. Super Backing 45 lbs (pink)
A few years ago we asked ourselves how we could make a good backing even better. After analysing the most important requirements for a backing we discovered that these were an even greater tensile strength - at a lower volume, a longer life, UV stability and very strong knot strength. We tested various materials and the breakthrough came when we combined a new braiding technique with a high performance thread. The result is the best backing that we know of. The main advantage is that even though it has a very small diameter, it has the quality to flatten out on the reel. This means no more cutting through itself! The tensile strength is 40 % higher, the diameter 35 % less than conventional backing and the fluorescent colour is easily visible. The tensile strength is 45 lbs (approx. 21 kg)! This may appear exorbitant to some Trout anglers but, even in this situation, our Super Backing does have the advantage of the fish feeling less water pressure on the line, during long runs and drills. When fly fishing for larger fish this advantage becomes even more apparent.

There are times when a fluorescent coloured backing is a great advantage. It is essential, especially when fighting very large species, to be able to track the path of a running fish. A coloured fluorescent backing helps you to do this.This is not only true for saltwater fly fishing, it also applies to Salmon, Pike, Steelhead and large Trout. A new production process has allowed us to produce a backing that, even when loaded tightly onto the spool, doesn‘t cut into the backing beneath it forming a weak spot. Fly rodders have praised good backing on many occasions, after all, on the day of the big catch a weak backing is the last thing you need! Pike Leader Steel (with Loop)
For pike fishing in depths up to three meters, we have developed this leader. It is best to fish it in combination with a floating line or sink tip line.
