Product information "Coq de Leon Pardo Short Saddle (Silver Grade)"
Gallo de León Pardo Short Saddle – Coq de León Feathers (Silver Grade)
Original Gallo de León Pardo Short Saddle feathers, also known as Coq de León feathers, originate from the traditional breeding region of León in Spain. Their distinctive natural speckling, fine feather fibres and warm natural colours make them a premium fly tying material.
Carefully selected by Javier Escanciano, these saddle feathers are classified as Silver Grade. They are particularly suitable for tying wet flies, nymphs, traditional fly patterns and smaller streamers.
Versatile Coq de León Feathers for Fly Tying
Unlike traditional Gallo de León back feathers, which are commonly used for nymph tails, Short Saddle feathers offer additional fly tying applications. They are suitable for tying in whole feathers, creating body wraps, wings and collars on various fly patterns.
The naturally speckled Pardo feathers add subtle colour variation and realistic detail to artificial flies. These characteristics are particularly attractive for traditional wet flies and natural-looking fly patterns.
Available in Three Natural Pardo Colours
- Pardo Golden Medium: Golden-brown natural feathers with dark speckling. Ideal for wet flies, nymphs and traditional patterns in warm brown shades.
- Pardo Corzuno Light: Lighter natural feathers with distinctive dark markings. Excellent for lighter and contrasting fly patterns.
- Pardo Corzuno Medium: Medium brown and grey natural tones with characteristic speckling. Versatile for wet flies, nymphs and smaller streamers.
