Tungsten Off Center Beads (metallic coffee)
Tungsten Beads for Jig-Style NymphsTungsten Off Center Beads combine additional weight with a unique hook-up riding position for your hand-tied nymphs. Unlike conventional tungsten beads, the hole for the hook shank is positioned off center, shifting the fly's center of gravity. In the water, this helps the nymph ride in a jig-style, hook-point-up position. Keeping the hook point away from rocks and other obstacles helps reduce snagging when fishing nymphs close to the bottom.More Weight in a Compact BeadTungsten's high density makes it an excellent material for adding weight to flies. The special shape of the Off Center Beads provides another advantage. At a comparable size, Off Beads are approximately 25% heavier than conventional tungsten beads. This additional weight helps your nymph reach the desired depth quickly without requiring an unnecessarily large bead. They are an excellent choice for deep nymphing, Euro Nymphing and fishing in fast currents.Tungsten Off Beads are also suitable for tying small trout streamers that need to reach depth quickly.Tungsten Off Beads FeaturesOff-center hole shifts the fly's center of gravityCreates a hook-point-up swimming positionHelps reduce snagging when fishing close to the bottomApproximately 25% heavier than conventional tungsten beads of comparable sizeFast sinkingIdeal for jig nymphs and Euro NymphingSuitable for nymphs and trout streamersWinner of the 2016 EFTTEX Award for Best New Terminal TackleColor: Metallic CoffeeTungsten Beads and Hook Size Guide?2,0 mm: Hook sizes #16 to #202,3 mm: Hook sizes #14 to #182,8 mm: Hook sizes #12 to #163,3 mm: Hook sizes #10 to #144,0 mm: Hook sizes #8 to #124,6 mm: Hook sizes #4 to #10Choose a larger Off Bead when you want your fly to sink faster. The additional weight gets the fly down quickly, while the off-center hole promotes a snag-resistant jig-style position. For modern nymph patterns, Euro Nymphing and heavily weighted flies, Off Beads are an essential addition to any well-equipped fly tying bench.
