RIO’S TECHNICAL EURO NYMPH LEADER has been designed for the ultimate in performance when fishing any of the European nymphing techniques. The extra-long, ultra-thin leader is incredibly sensitive to the subtlest of grabs, and the two-tone indicator tippet tied to the front end has high contrast and is very easy to see. The leader finishes with a RIO tippet ring so anglers can quickly and easily attach the tippet of their choice.

The Euro Nymph leaders are designed with a unique taper to meet the needs of the European nymphing methods for competitors and first timers. These 9’ (275cm) leaders are built out of a high-vis chartreuse tapered leader which is hand tied to 22” (56cm) of our Indicator Tippet material. Euro Nymph Shorty
RIO’S EURO NYMPH SHORTY is an ultra-thin, super-sensitive fly line designed for Euro nymphing. The line is deliberately made short (20 feet) so it can be added to the front end of a regular fly line utilizing the thin welded loop on each end. The idea is that anglers can fish their normal fly fishing style with their regular trout line, and when they come to a run they want to fish Euro nymph style, they simply loop the Shorty on and start nymphing. Quick, easy and no need for an extra rod or reel.
Tippet Rings (Pitzenbauer Ringerl)
These small, extremely strong rings were made public by the famous fly fisherman Edgar Pitzenbauer and used in the grayling fishing. Meanwhile, these rings have spread all over the world among fly fishermen. They are tied to the end of your leader (conical, braided or linear) and allow you again and again to re-tie your leader at the end, without shortening the length of the leader. The individual rings are rounded inside and out and are therefore very smooth. These rings have no solder joint. Thus, a "break point" was prevented and the surface remains very smooth. The rings are extremely light and durable. Also suitable for floating leaders. Especially modern Nymph fishermen use these rings in an enormously wide range of applications. By using it, you will ultimately save money, as your leaders will only have to shorten their fly changes in the front leader material. In addition, the field of application is very diverse. You can use these rings to tie in Springer flies or pike felts, or even use them when drop shot fishing. Recommendation: we strongly advise you to use the rings when using Fluorocarbon leaders / leader material in combination with regular nylon, as this material is apt to cut through the surface hardness of other types of nylon. With a leader ring that does not happen anymore. Even with the use of polyleaders / Versileaders the use of the leader rings is recommended because it no longer shortens the polyleader and the life can be increased enormously. CDC Buck Caddis Dry Fly, red
As its name suggests "CDC Buck Caddis (B.C.), this American deer hair fly is actually intended to represent a caddis fly. In fact, however, this simple and sophisticated tying method covers a much wider range of imitations. Practice has shown that the B.C. is not only used as a sedge crawler, as a dun or as a little stonefly. Pulled under water, it can even be fished as an emerger, with success. A real universal pattern. In combination with CDC body and CDC head hackle, this pattern becomes even more attractive - and much more resistant. After all, the seemingly fragile brush fibers are much more robust than they look and effectively shield the rather sensitive deer hair fibers. In addition, they diffusely disguise the outline of the B.C., making it the all-rounder par excellence. With a yellow or bordeaux-colored body, my B.C. version imitates a wide range of aquatic insects, especially caddis and mayfly stages. The size 19 claret has excelled as a very catchy grayling fly in the fall. The CDC Buck Caddis is fished dry, in the film or just below the surface, depending on its use.
