The high density of tungsten provides substantial weight in a compact bead, helping your fly reach the desired fishing depth quickly without requiring an oversized bead. The classic hole design makes these tungsten beads a versatile choice at the fly tying bench. They work with numerous nymph hooks and traditional patterns, from small bead head nymphs to heavily weighted flies for deep pools and fast currents.Get Your Nymphs Down FastControlling fishing depth is an important part of successful nymph fishing. The high density of tungsten makes it an excellent material for tying compact, fast-sinking flies.Different bead diameters allow you to adjust the weight and sink rate of your nymph according to water depth, current speed and fly size.Smaller tungsten beads are ideal for subtle nymph patterns. Larger beads add more weight for fishing deep pools and strong currents. This makes TRAUN RIVER Tungsten Beads suitable for traditional nymph fishing, Euro Nymphing and other modern nymphing techniques.Choose the Right Bead ColorIn addition to size and weight, bead color influences the appearance of your finished fly. Different colors allow you to adapt your nymph patterns to fishing conditions, fly design and personal preferences.Silver creates a bright reflective accent and works well with many modern nymph patterns.Regular Tungsten Beads Key FeaturesHigh-density tungsten for fast-sinking fliesHigh weight in a compact beadClassic hole design for versatile fly patternsIdeal for nymphs and bead head nymphsSuitable for traditional nymph fishing and Euro NymphingMultiple diameters for different sink ratesAvailable in a wide selection of colorsAn essential material for a versatile fly tying benchColor: SilverContents:20 beads per pack in sizes 2.8 to 3.8 mm10 beads per pack in size 4.6 mmTungsten Bead and Hook Size Guide2.8 mm: Hook sizes #12 to #163.3 mm: Hook sizes #10 to #143.8 mm: Hook sizes #8 to #124.6 mm: Hook sizes #6 to #12These recommendations provide a useful starting point. Their compact size and high weight provide plenty of options when adjusting your nymph patterns. Different sizes and colors allow you to tie everything from lightweight nymphs for shallow water to heavily weighted patterns for deep pools and strong currents.Tip for Tying Jig NymphsWant to tie nymphs on jig hooks? Take a look at our Slotted Tungsten Beads or our special Tungsten Off Beads.Slotted Tungsten Beads are particularly well suited to jig hooks thanks to their slotted design. Tungsten Off Beads feature an off-center hole that shifts the fly's center of gravity and helps the nymph ride hook point up. This reduces the risk of snagging when fishing close to the bottom. Off Beads are also approximately 25% heavier than comparable standard tungsten beads.Choose standard Tungsten Beads for traditional nymph patterns, Slotted Tungsten Beads for jig hooks and Tungsten Off Beads when you want a pronounced hook-point-up presentation.
