Elite Scandi Body
Shooting Head with combined Skagit power and Scandi smoothness. The Elite Scandi body is a short floating body to which a multitude of tips can be attached. It is the most versatile design of all, and blends Skagit power with Scandi grace. It is ideal for anglers that want to travel light, while covering a range of depths and casting styles. To the front end of the body anglers can attach regular 12ft, 15ft & 18ft sink tips for lighter Scandi-Style presentations, as well as MOW tips, „T“ tips, iMOW tips or VersiLeaders for a more powerful turnover Skagit style casting. All water conditions are covered.Features and Specifications:Multipurpose design casts a wide range of tipsPrinted ID system on the rear of the head for quick recognitionLoops on both ends for fast riggingSlightly shorter bodies at the light end and longer at the heavy endColor-coded front loops for easy rigging and simplified matching of MDC tipsSlickCast: SlickCast creates the slickest, most durable coating on the market – producing the least amount of friction ever measured on a fly line. What does slick get you? For starters, line flies through the guides with higher line speeds for unprecedented and easy distance. The slick coating also allows anglers to fish more effectively as line slides out of the guides with less friction for extended drag-free drifts.Connect Core Plus: Building a better fly line starts at the core, and our low-stretch ConnectCore Plus provides a radical increase in line durability, coating smoothness and overall performance. ConnectCore Plus stretches 30% less than standard cores, and gives anglers all the benefits of a low-stretch core - enhanced sensitivity, less wasted energy and faster hook sets - with a significantly longer lifespan. It also allows hand stretching to easily remove memory coils for a more direct connection to fish and fly. The highest-performing, longest-lasting freshwater lines in the world are built around ConnectCore Plus.Easy-ID: RIO’s line marking system that shows anglers the model and line size of the relevant product, neatly printed on the actual fly line itselfColor: Straw/BlueSink Rate: FloatingThe RIO Elite Scandi Body Shooting Head is available in following line classes:Line ClassTotal Head WeightLength#5250gr (16,2g)20ft (6,1m)#6300gr (19,4g)20ft (6,1m)#6/7325gr (21,1g)21ft (6,4m)#7350gr (22,7g)22ft (6,7m)#7/8375gr (24,3g)22ft (6,7m)#8400gr (25,9g)22ft (6,7m)#8/9435gr (28,2g)23,5ft (7,2m)#9470gr (30,5g)25ft (7,6m)#10540gr (35,0g)28ft (8,5m)#10+610gr (39,5g)31ft (9,4m)

MDC Sink Tips 12ft
Perfect control and precision with the MDC interchangeable tips.MDC Tips are the smoothest casting sink tips you'll ever throw thanks to RIO's Multi-Density Control tech. MDC is a system of split densities that creates seamless casting tapers that maximize sink rates where they matter - closer to the fly.The RIO MDC interchangeable tips offer a progressive design in terms of sink rates. MDC stands for Multi Density Control. Different sink rates within the interchangeable tips allow for direct contact with the bait and absolute depth control. The 12ft tips are designed for switch and light two-handed rods. MDC Tips sync perfectly with RIO's Elite Scandi Body but they also pair well with short-head Skagit systems. Also available: 18ft tips for heavier two-handed rods. You can find them here.Features and Specifications:MDC = Multi-Density-Control: Multi Density Control is a combination of different density coatings along the length of a fly line. After years of experimentation RIO has developed a unique element which is six times more buoyant than those used by other fly line manufacturers. This process is called „Fusion Technology”. By simultaneously processing this super-buoyant undercoating with an ultra-smooth outer coating the results are the smoothest, most durable and highest floating fly lines imaginable. Two Handed & Switch Lines
Especially with the two-handed fly lines a lot has happened in recent years. RIO is considered a pioneer and market leader in two-handed fly lines and their development. At the moment the trend is that the rods are shorter and they therefore need to be equipped with modern two-handed fly lines to get the best out of them.
How do I choose the right string for switch and two-handed rods?
First, choose the line type
You can choose from the following types of fly lines / shootingheads:
Skagit Shooting Head:
Requires Running Line and Tips (MOW Tips, VersiLeader or 15 ft. Replacement Tips) best for larger flies and sinking tips - very easy to throw
Scandi Shooting Head:
Requires Running Line and possibly Tips (MOW Tips or VersiLeader) ideal for smoother and more accurate presentations and smaller flies (such as salmon flies) - easy to throw
Trout Spey Shooting Head:
Requires Running Line and possibly tips (MOW Tips or VersiLeader) perfect for short switch rods or single-handed rods - easy to throw
Shooting head integrated with Running Line:
If necessary, tips (MOW tips or VersiLeaders) are ideal for those who do not like the shooting Head and separate running line system - perfect for beginners
Then choose the right line weight for your rod
Each rod needs a corresponding weight (grain / gram) to load it properly. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
