Product information "DirectCore Bonefish"

RIO’s DirectCore Bonefish line has a long head and rear taper to smooth out the loop, and to make long efficient casts, while the mid length front taper produces great turnover and easy presentation of typical bonefish flies. Each line is built on RIO’s low-memory DirectCore that is extremely easy to stretch and lies perfectly straight on the water, yet retains the stiffness needed to cast in hot conditions. A high floating coating ensures the running line will not sink when wading.

The core strength of this line is as follows: WF6 - WF7 = 30 lb / WF8 - WF9 = 40 lb

Total length: #6 = 27,7 m / #7 - #9 = 30,5 m

Head length: 14,8 - 15,3 m

Colour: sand/orange/blue

PROCESSED RIO TECHNOLOGIES

DirectCore

In hot, humid conditions, DirectCore lines provide the stiffness you need to fire into the wind, with significantly reduced memory. Which means your line lies straighter on the water for a more direct connection to fly and fish. DirectCore is also 25% stronger than other monofilament cores of equal size, and stretches 30% less at breaking point. In short, DirectCore makes you a better angler on the flats, in the mangroves and off the beach.

XS (Extreme Slickness)
The RIO test laboratories carried out extensive practical experiments and material combinations, until they discovered the secret behind the XS Technology. The result is a generation of fly lines with a slicker surface. On the water this leads to longer and more accurate casts, less abrasion, less dirt attraction and an overall better performance.

AgentX
Traditionally, getting a fly line to float has required mixing tiny glass balls (called microspheres) into the lines coating. After years of experimentation RIO have developed a unique element which is six times more buoyant than those used by other fly line manufacturers. This process is called „Fusion Technology”. By simultaneously processing this super-buoyant undercoating with an ultra-smooth outer coating the results are the smoothest, most durable and highest floating fly lines imaginable.

RIO Welded Loops Technology
Welded Loops
RIO pioneered / originated the innovative welded loop technique. Welded loop fly line tips float better and enable a rapid change of leader. Almost all RIO fly lines are supplied with these small welded loops, please see the appropriate line diagram for information.

RIO Products
For more than 20 years, RIO has demonstrated passion, innovation and a pure love for the sport through its development of the industry's highest performance fly lines. And the great news is, we will continue to research, design and refine our products to ensure they are your preferred line of choice for years to come.Product development like that won't happen all by itself – that level of commitment is going to require thousands more hours on the water – but somebody's got to do it, and that somebody is RIO. No matter what line family, price level or quality RIO fly line you choose, you can fish happy in the knowledge that every single fly line is made in our Idaho Falls facility – close to the banks of our premium testing grounds, the Henry’s Fork and the South Fork of the Snake in Idaho. Fly line manufacturing is a complicated business requiring incredibly sophisticated machinery.RIO spends thousands of hours on the water researching, designing & refining products.
