The Squirrely Muddler is a downsized version of the popular saltwater Kinky Muddler, and has claimed countless large trout – browns, rainbows, cutts, and brookies measured in pounds, not inches. Its rounded Kinky Muddler head, bulging eyes, and wide collar create a little vortex that animates the squirrel zonker body into a kicking, wiggling motion. Because it is so mobile and looks so much like a little fish, it works its magic whether stripped, swung or even dead-drifted, and it’s a devastating trout spey fly as well.
