Real Amadou is a rediscovered, indespensible fly fishing utensil!

Real Amadou was not available for many years and the production became an almost forgotten art. Gerhard Laible has rejuvenated this craft and in painstaking handwork has made the real Amadou available to us in a very practical design.

Amadou was and is used to dry wet and slimy flies when false casting cannot do the job, this is especially noticeable with CDC flies. The fly is placed between the 2 sides of the Amadou and pressed until dry. The Amadou acts like a sponge and draws water leaving your fly to float as though it had never been used.

If your fly still has slime from an earlier catch on it, wash the fly in water before pressing the fly between the Amadou. Used properly this real Amadou soon becomes essential for every fly fisher.

We offer the Amadou with a practical ring attachment for your fishing vest and in a size that is not normally available.
